Your first stop for any paid activities located at the park, along with group rentals, tours, and birthday parties. Restrooms available.
Children's Animal Farm
The Children's Animal Farm is home to a variety of animals including llama, sheep, goats, rabbits, ducks, and a donkey.
Children's Animal Farm Rules
Check with staff before petting the animals
Do not feed any of the animals in the park (unless purchasing approved feed at Children's Farm). Our animals are on specially created diets and can become seriously ill by eating "people food."
Cookhouse
Lockwood Park Cookhouse is the site of many Rockford Park District programs. In fall 2011, the Cookhouse received a whole new look, thanks to a team of volunteers from Lowe's Regional Distribution Center.
Observatory
Where else can you get this view of the sun, moon and stars? The Rockford Amateur Astronomers Inc. holds free public viewing sessions at dusk every 2nd and 4th Saturday, weather permitting. Garden Plots
If you have a green thumb but lack the black dirt, consider renting a garden plot at Lockwood Park. Garden plots are 20'x30' spaces (size approximate) and water access is available.
